Set in a natural environment of rare beauty, in the valley of the river Cecina, is Bibbona. It has the charm of the antique medieval towns and is immersed in the green of the woods and countryside. Bibbona’s territory extends within the Val del Cecina, over the foothills of the Metallifere hills and flat areas situated along the Tyrrhenian coastline.
This little town, clambering up the hillside, has historical roots which date bake to 1492 up until today. This pretty little town hasn’t been spoilt and hasn’t lost the real meaning of living.

Crossing alleys and medieval squares you reach the main square, from which there is an upward slope which leads to the XII century parish church of San Ilario.
At the entrance to the town you will find the renaissance church of Santa Maria della Pieta, built towards the end of 1400, while the head office of the old borough represents the rich traditions of civil life of this place.

Within the enchanting picture of this old town, particular traditional events take place of which the Historical walk and the Palio delle Botti (wine barrel festival ), all linked to folklore and historical traditions.
The area around the 1700 Fortress, which was built on the coast to defend the area from pirate raids and such, has developed into one of the most prized tourist locations of the Etruscan coast: Marina di Bibbona.
The long and wide sandy beach, modelled by characteristic dunes and clumps of mediterranean scrubland full of juniper, act as a border between the sea and the splendid pinewoods.
The Punti Azzurri (blue points), large areas of free beach equipped with bathing establishments, sports, enjoyment, relax: are the ingredients for a holiday which is suitable for everyone needs.
